Description:

The Coral Triangle Initiative for Food Security, Coral Reefs and Climate Change is a country-led, multilateral partnership to safeguard the region’s extraordinary marine and coastal biological resources.  Recognized as the global center of marine biological diversity, this region is home to some 363 million people, one-third directly dependent on coastal and marine resources for their livelihoods.  USAID supports regional collaboration and learning, and implementation of the regional and national plans of action in all six countries to strengthen local institutions, adopt sustainable fisheries management practices, effectively manage marine protected areas, and enhance adaptation to climate change in the region.
