1. Increase enrollment and improve attendance of boys and girls in primary schools

This activity was part of the PRRO which focused on capacity building in logistics and technical support for the implementation of the school feeding programme as the main food component of the programme had been handed over to the Ministry of Education in 2010. It had been agreed with the Government that WFP would continue to distribute beans, oil and salt to children from grades 1 to 9 in targeted schools to fully utilise carryover stocks from 2010. WFP successfully distributed school meals to students from grades 1 to 6 as well as students from grades 7 to 9, in the enclave of Oecusse,. WFP handed over the school feeding programme to the Government in August 2011 upon the Government's request.
