Poverty reduction of indigenous farmers living in the dry and vulnerable uplands and coastal areas in the Districts of Manatuto and Los Palos.
This project is expected to reduce the number of poor indigenous farmers in the districts of Manatuto and Los Palos in the long-term. At the end of the project, the farming communities will have increased agricultural productivity and household income. The target groups/beneficiaries are will have first hand field experience on how to increase agricultural productivity using improved technologies. Women who are considered as one of the most vulnerable sectors in the country and in the two districts in particular will benefit through a series of capacity building initiatives that focuses on strengthening their leadership, and organizing skills, as well as improving their farming and livelihood skills.
