To increase public awareness of basic rights to seek legal remedies to legitimate grievances that is to increase public knowledge and change public perceptions and attitudes regarding the workings of the Timorese judicial system - To support the creation of referral pathways for Timorese women to access legal advice To enhance the capacity and sustainability of Timorese CSOs to play a more active role in justice, women’s and peace building processes
The project focuses on using media as strategy to increase access to justice especially for women
1 large formal meeting and 10 informal meeting are conducted at message development stakeholder meetings to elicit the stakeholders (legal, gender, youth experts) for the content of media outreach campaigns, build consensus and foster dialogue. - 26 people of AATL (East Timor Bar Association) staff will be trained in justice and conflict transformation - 15 episodes production of radio oral ”herstory” series and 240 copies distributed - 1 interactive talks shows and quizzes for every 3 radio oral history episodes are produced and broadcasted - Publicity and promotion campaign to promote listenership through production of POSAs ( Public Service Announcements) - 195 people will be recruited to be Listener Groups and Focus Group Discussions to assess whether the vulnerable groups are clearly able to identify legal issues, conflicts and solutions for accessing justice and transforming conflict. - Compiling and Reporting feedback of the view of Timor’s most vulnerable groups will be compiled into People’s Justice View report.
