Expected Outcomes: 

The intended outcomes of the program are that Timorese women and men supported by the program have increased capacity and leadership skills so that they can contribute to development in Timor-Leste.


Description: 

This activity has three main activities components: 1). Skill Development Program (SDP), which has three sub-activities components: a. Skills Development: Emphasis will be given to support the development of quality skills in the tourism and the hospitality sector, especially amongst women, and support for improved engagement with the private sector b. Employment: The focus will upon improving access to the labour market for young people, and expanding overseas opportunities. A number of components will be supported, including the Seasonal Worker Program, the industry sub-commissions and the piloting of an apprenticeship program. c. Institutional support: Targeted support will be provided for capacity development, especially labour market information and planning systems. This will also include the development of a disability and gender strategy at SEPFOPE. 2). English Language Program is an actvity to improve the quality of English languae teaching at schools and universities in Timor-Leste, particularly supporting UNTL in establishing the English Language Centre (ELC) 3). Australia Development Scholarship It is an ongoing scholarship program that offered to Timorese citizens to undertake tertiary study at institutions in Australia.


Final Project Results: 

Project implemented under the Workforce Development Program Timor-Leste (WDPTL) are: 1. Australia Awards Scholarship (AAS), this program is benefited to the Timorese, 2. Skills Development & Employment (SDE), this program is benefited to SEFOPE, INDIMO and CNEFP Tibar, and 3. Australia Timor-Leste English Language (ATELP), this program is benefited to the Ministry of Education and INFORDEPE Especially for Secondary Teachers. Four years program with total budget AU$ 12,202,664.99. The outcomes achieve of the program are that Timorese women and men have increased capacity and leadership skills so that they can contribute to development in Timor-Leste.
