Young people from disadvantaged rural regions in Timor-Leste are able to make use of opportunities for income and employment.

Capacitate the rural youth, in the selected target areas, to better recognize and access employment generating opportunities, in their areas. The project is aiming at providing them with improved competencies that will enable them to become good employees, employers and entrepreneurs thus contributing to strengthen social cohesion, conflict prevention and poverty reduction.

(1.) Vocational orientation measures adapted to the lifeworld of young people in rural regions are established. (2) Capacities of local centres for vocational orientation and employment (CEOPs) for developing and implementing labour market services (counselling, placement) which are culture, gender and conflict sensitive are improved. (3) The range of vocational qualification services with relevance for employment and focusing on acquiring social and agricultural competencies is improved in selected regions. (4) Culturally adapted models for nonviolent conflict resolution and intergenerational dialogue have been successfully tested.
