Support to the Maritime Related Industries of TL.

The objective of this Project is for the Timorese maritime sector increasingly operates in accordance with international recognised standards from a legal, institutional and human resources standpoint.

(1). Improved performance and organization of state and private actors in the maritime sector; (2). The maritime administration works in compliance with international standards set by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and with national legislation. (3). The crew of the existing ferryboat and of any others that may be acquired are Timorese nationals. (4). Alumni of the vocational training and continuous education activities supported by the project, within 6 months of completing their studies, find a (dependent or independent) professional occupation in the maritime sector of Timor-Leste, according to their qualifications. At least 10% are women. (5). Timorese seafarers have qualifications in compliance with international standards.
