By 2020, high quality data and analytical evidence are available and used to support equity sensitive and child centered policy discussion and implementation.

Output:

By 2020, policy makers, opinion leaders, general public and children with increased awareness and capacities to identify and respond to children’s rights and equity dimensions of social inclusion.

The Communications programme mobilizes commitment towards the realization of children’s and women’s rights and the achievement of international development goals by advocating for child-centred policies, programmes and services, as well as resources needed to realize these goals. The programme strategies will be a) usesing formative research as basis for developing appropriate communication strategies to support awareness of CRC; b) maximising the use of available channels including media, interpersonal and community communication to make more stakeholders aware of and uphold child rights; c)  support capacity building programmes for partners to develop evidence based strategic communication approaches for empowering children, parents and community with information and knowledge that will improve their well-being and to influence behavior that have impact on upholding and protecting children; d) providing technical support for quality control in designing, implementing and monitoring communication activities.  The programme is composed of two projects which are; 1) Advocacy and Media, 2) Programme Communication Support that is aim to support other programme components in developing advocacy and training materials through Communication for Development approach.
