The ANCP supports the most vulnerable and marginalised communities in Timor-Leste in a range of sectors such as education, health, water and sanitation and governance. The ANCP will directly support community-level economic development, facilitating access to markets, improving livelihoods for women, and working to strengthen links between communities, government and the private sector.

The ANCP recognises the unique strengths that NGOs bring to development activities and both complements and strengthens Australia’s overall aid efforts, working towards Australian aid program’s strategic goals.

The ANCP is the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s largest annual grants program that provides funding to accredited Australian non-government organisations (NGOs) to deliver community development projects in developing countries.

The Australian Goverment are currently suporting 16 non government organisations with 36 programs in Timor Leste funded by ANCP for 2016/17 .Investments are in basic education and training, health, water and sanitation and disability inclusion, rural development, good governance, climate change and DRR. An example of a key results is the provision of a new water system for a community in Manufahi has a new water system, with the support of WaterAid Timor-Leste and Luta Ba Futuru..
