Expected Outcomes: 

Development Objective:

The Development Objective of the Project is to contribute directly to the generation of pro-poor economic development and quality employment for women and men and indirectly to peace consolidation and conflict prevention.

Immediate Objective:

Objective 1: Increased business opportunities for MSEs in target sectors and districts

Objective 2: Nation-wide access to enhanced and innovative market / need orientated business development services

Objective 3: Increased SEAPRI commitment and capacity to mainstream gender in all policies, programs and activities


Description: 

 

 

 

 

  • Objective: To contribute to employment creation and income generation through a systemic approach to enterprise development.
  • The BOSS Project is a private sector development project, which aims at establishing the private sector as the primary source of growth in income and employment in rural areas.

 


Final Project Results: 

Development Objective:

-Increase in household income  

- % of self and wage employment (sex disaggregated) 

Objective 1: Increased business opportunities for MSEs in target sectors and districts

-Increasing sales in the target sectors and districts per year and cumulatively (male and female headed MSEs)

-Net additional, full time equivalent jobs created in target enterprises as a result of the programme, per year and cumulatively (men and women)

-Increasing number of business start-ups in the target sectors and districts per year and cumulatively (male and female headed MSEs)

-Increasing public and private investment in the target sectors and districts per year and cumulatively (male and female headed MSEs)


Objective 2: Nation-wide access to enhanced and
innovative market / need orientated business
development services

-An increase of at least 50% in the number of enterprises that access innovative market/need oriented business development services offered by IADE/CDEs, 30% of which are women-managed enterprises, by the end of the project

-50% of surveyed clients (at least 30% women) of IADE/CDE Business Development Services report increased business turnover as a result of their interaction with the service by the end of the project.


Objective 3: Increased SEAPRI commitment and
capacity to mainstream gender in all policies, programs and activities

-SEAPRI Gender Strategy and Gender Equality Action Plan developed and implemented 

-Organic Law of IADE integrates gender mainstreaming responsibilities in each directorate

-IADE Annual Action Plan and budget respond to gender sensitive criteria
